When We Stopped for Lunch, November 9
Sherwin spent most of his sunny hours finishing the dormer for the loft on the eastern side...it took many trips up and down and up again on the ladder to fit each board carefully into the wall. There are 26 rungs on that long ladder and he must have gone up and down at least 50 times just to do that dormer. At the end of the day his legs were weary.
Isn't that lovely? Of course, it appears loveliest to Sherwin and me.
Below is a close up look at the dormer wall on the western side of the loft which he will finish on Sunday morning, before the next batch of forecasted rain begins.
Teddy Roosevelt once observed that
"life's greatest gift is the opportunity
to work hard at work worth doing."
That certainly looks like work worth doing! So glad you had a couple of days of sunshine to help you push through these last must-finish tasks!
ReplyDeleteWhooo!
Isn't it great to see the blue, blue sky in the first photo...now we are back to buckets of rain...happy to be as far along as we are. I have headed back upstairs with commandeered scaffolding to reach the high points so feel good about that too.
DeleteAll I can say is Wow!!!--your house is looking so awesome--unbelievable the work you two have put into these renos--so beautiful--I can hardly wait for a lovely spring day when I come to visit.
ReplyDeleteSo looking forward to your visit in the spring...
DeleteYee haw! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, we are delighted to be this far down the road to completion...it seems that the rest will be nothing but fun because it is all finishing. Then we can sit up there and draw and paint and play artist all we want!!
