Dedicated to those looking for a little comfort!

If you have been watching too much international news, like me, you may feel a need for some calm comfort.  Some years ago I wrote this little poem for just a day like today.

These little birds feel very comfortable and safe here...they will even come to rest on your shoulder or head if you are working quietly in the garden.

Oh, little brown bird
Who flits through the trees;
Did you know that the Lord
Is watchful and sees?
All the cold and the snow,
All the misery and woe,
That comes to all birds
That live here below?

Oh, little brown bird
Did you know that it’s spring?
That the Lord who watched o’er you
Through winter, will bring
Fresh grass and warm air
Blue skies and days fair
For He loves you and sees you
And knows that you’re there.             -Shirley Ann Goerlitz

God sees the little sparrows fall,
They meet His tender view;
If God so loves the little birds,
I know He loves me too.
He paints the lily of the field,
Perfumes each lily bell;
If He so loves the little flowers
I know He loves me well.                         -Maria Straus

  2. Hello!! I was just invited by your husband to come view your new blog! I see all the birds and must tell you, I'm working on a birding edition of my blog to hopefully have it posted for Outdoor Wednesday blog this coming week. I'd like to invite you to come join me any time. As I love visitors.

    And your viola photo below is just gorgeous. You and I are going to get along just fine. It seems so far we have similar interests.
