Just Messing Around...

Birthdays come but once a year and for that we are thankful since the numbers are getting bigger and bigger and bigger!  Imagine my delight to receive gifts already even though my birthday is 2 weeks away.  Of course, I think my husband was as excited to give as to see me receive.  Just last week our daughter sent us a link to a demonstration of pastels, not the usual pastels, panpastels.

Yesterday morning I set up the dining room table with all the old sets of pastels I had accumulated over the years and not used and then my pretty new set and we both went to work.  It was a delight.  The panpastels go on so nicely, so smoothly and it is hard not to get a good result.  The set Sherwin purchased for me is called the Landscape Series.  See...

I, on the other hand, couldn't wait to mess about with the new little pots of color.  So fun:

Since I enjoy sketching this seems a logical extension of that.
