Let's Define Happiness

Have you been able to find a great definition for the word Happiness?

Give this a try . . .

Cannot help but smile when you see this, right?

But does that mean Happiness?

Or would you say happiness could be your husband making Sabbath dinner?
          Kettle Korn
          White Cheddar Popcorn
          Ripe Pears
          Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream
and, oh yes, do not forget the Prune Plums!

Poets have searched for the meaning of happiness . . .

by Carl Sandburg

I asked professors who teach the meaning of life to tell what is happiness.

And I went to famous executives who boss the work of thousands of men.

They all shook their heads and gave me a smile as though I was trying to fool with them.

And then one Sunday afternoon I wandered out along the Desplaines River

And I saw a crowd of Hungarians under the trees with their women and children and a keg of beer and an accordion.

"When what you think
and what you say
and what you do
harmonize and blend
you will find happiness."

"To be of use in the world
is the only way to be happy."
-Eleanor McMillan Brown

"We cannot cure the world of sorrows,
but we can choose to live in joy."
-Joseph Campbell

Tell me, please, what makes you happy?
Is it possible to give it words?
Do you know it when you see it?

"Perhaps if one really knew
when one was happy
one would know the things
that were necessary for one's life."
-Joanna Field
