Thankfulness Through Adversity . . .

Yes, I know...we can be thankful even when we've stubbed our toe or had a thorough head whacking by life...theoretically, that is.

But what about in reality?  Over the years I have learned through some nasty, snarly lessons that when I am down and out that is a great opportunity to trust in the Lord.

But then I say, how many times do I have to learn to trust Him?  Again and again?

Well, last night in the wee small hours, as I flipped from side to side and raced through a half dozen Sudoku puzzles I finally came to rest in a truly thankful moment.  The mind battles that haunted me came to rest in a trusting sleep.

It is odd that no matter how advanced the years I still have to go through the "Jacob-wrestling-with-The-Angel' hours before it dawns on me that yes, this is one more opportunity to trust in the Lord.

For all the 'wrestling' times through my life, I am thankful.  I take it that means He is not finished with me yet nor has He thrown me on the trash heap.  Hallelujah!  Amen!

(second-coming clouds I snapped this past week)

"For I know the plans I have for you,
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
Plans to give you Hope and a Future."
Jeremiah 29:1

That is my wish for you today.
God bless and be well.

  1. I'm pretty convinced it is a middle-of-the-night phenomenon--things that bother a soul in the night are easily worked through in the light of day. Just acknowledging that can help me put crazy worries and nonsense away (sometimes). At least, that's my theory...

    1. Yes, your theory works for me too but it seems I have to battle some still before I can say...It is Yours, Lord. Do with it what You will!

And I know that in the dark everything seems worse than in reality...I know it! And still...
