While the Cat's Away . . .
Last week I was whining to my sister, Marilyn, about the size and amount of weeds in my sunken garden... all my gardens, in fact. Whine, whine, moan...
Marilyn said, But you have such a lovely yard. I said, what? And she returned with, You are focusing too much on the weeds, not the beauty...
Marilyn, notice the size of the weeds?
Sherwin had to have a photo of this. I do believe I have 'State Fair Prize Winning Weeds'!
Have to stay home awhile to show those weeds who is boss around here.
Hope your summer is going along just great.
Until next time, God bless and be well.
You'd be surprised how much less yardwork you have if you let your definition of "weeds" breathe a little..
ReplyDeleteI suppose you are right, Shelby... thistles are a pretty purple and Queen's Anne Lace is quite lovely but both just happened to come up in a rather inappropriate spot!
DeleteBut your idea does have merit. At least it put a smile on my face!
Shelby's right, but wow, thistles like that demand some pretty hefty gloves to get at! Yowsa.
ReplyDeleteI find I can focus on the beauty much more easily if the weeds are at least kept at half-mast. Wonder where I get that from?!
Those beds have old pasture dirt in them so they produce WILD weeds!!
DeleteI feel like I am just now starting to get a handle on my yard. I have a long ways to go before I am truly up to speed. And then it will be time to head south!
