Stopping in the Woods on a Sunshiny Day...

Today was a most heavenly day with blue sky, sunshine and ending with more rain to wash more snow away.  We went out trudging through the woods and I could not help but think of Mr. Frost and his poem about woods/snow/evening/pony etc.

We started out in the woods...

We headed off to Merryman Drive...

From there I had to see if I could find a pony to fill out the poem as I was constructing it in my head...

And his little burro companion...

All of our island glowed in the winter light today...

Frozen crabapples dripping in the sun...

Found some teardrops on the leaves...

Passed by a neighbor's barn...the island is so small everyone is a neighbor...

And across the way were glorious rosehips...

Home again...

The woods were lovely
The pony came over to chat
The world was bright and glorious
The miles have been walked
And now its time for sleep!

Stay tuned for further updates from the Listography Book...the next topic is to list my closest friends.  Since that topic is one of great interest to me I have been asking myself questions before I share that page with you.  What constitutes a friend?  What is the difference between a friend and an acquaintance?  What can I do to be a better friend?  In what way have I been responsible for damaging friendships?  Lots to think about...I would take any input on the subject.  It is one to be handled with care and love.

Wishing you all a bright new week.

  1. As you know I have lots of quotes I love about friends but I think my very favorite one is--
"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back when you have forgotten the words."---when life throws you a curve ball it is so nice to have a friend like that--no words need even to be exchanged--just knowing you have a friend like that can be enough.
