Some Friday Night Gratitude...

It is a good thing to stop and count your blessings at least once a week.  Early in the morning, when I first rise and look out the windows I have a moment of enormous  gratitude for our spot in the world.

Having just spent last weekend at a family reunion I have to say it fills me with joy to say I am thankful for a lot of lovely people I can call family and friend. We had such a good time with lots of good food and good connections.

and for these children I am truly thankful (if I knew photoshop I could slip in our dear son-in-law who was tending the shop)...very thankful for the extra days with Sherilee and Seth...

Tonight I find myself thankful for my faith relationship with God. He makes our lives worth living in many ways.

Have faith in God, with Him comes understanding;
Have faith in God, He gives you cause to sing;
Have faith in God, your heart will have His peace;
Have faith, dear friend, in God.

Having just spent most of the day outdoors either walking or working in one garden or another I have to give thanks for the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty all around us.

and of course, my roses!!

And I am so grateful for the permission I have given myself to spend more time creatively. For years I skirted around the edges of living creatively…but I was always in a rush. It is time to get rid of the hurry, hurry of life as we knew it back in civilization.

For you all who read these lines I am thankful.  Faithful friends are important and a great blessing in my life.  Have a lovely weekend.

  1. Nice! Sorry if I badgered you about the gratitude thing... I know you to be a grateful soul--wonder where I got it from?!

    The roses Alan had on my dresser when I got home look very similar to yours, and smell like heaven. I can sniff and type at the same time!

    Peaceful weekend. xo

  2. Love your comments, as usual--the quote from Melody Beattie is one of my favorites--this family reunion once again made me so very grateful for our wonderful family--we are all truly blessed.
