Day 1, April 7, 2011
Day 1 has come to a close for the Paris Adventure and I am ready for bed. Since last night was very short at our house I will most likely sleep very well tonight even though I hear city noises out there and my Honey Bear is not curled up beside me to soothe my soul to sleep.
Before I talk on and on about my lovely day you really need to go to see what Sherwin had to say about April 7!
As I write here poor Sherwin is still winging his way south to meet up with friend Lorne for some man time with golf and such on the menu every day for the next couple weeks.
When we walked into the airport terminal a little boy said to his mama, "Look, a real cowboy!" To which she replied, "Sure enough, it is."
After our last goodbye kiss he was off and out the door.
It is one thing to watch airplanes come and go but when your beloved is on the plane with an uncertain flight plan facing him because of mechanical failures, it is quite another story.
And then he was gone...My plane which looked somewhat like that followed into the sky a little later and after a good half hour nap and some good reading I was in Calgary!
This huge statue of 'Big Head', an Albertan cowboy, meets you at the bottom of the escalator in baggage claim...he is huge and beautifully done.
Stay tuned for Day 2 tomorrow...good night to all and sweet dreams.

I guess I will have to let my beard grow longer if I am going to look like a real cowboy. It looks like a massive sculpture... very nice catch.
ReplyDeleteAlso really liked the nice JAZZ shots at the Victoria airport. Nice sky. Great colour. Makes Victoria look very pleasant.
And the adventure begins. Looking forward to many more posts.
ReplyDeleteYou two are the best! Bon Voyage. xo
ReplyDeleteI am eagerly waiting for more photos and updates of your adventure--you and Marilyn have the time of your life and one day I will come and see you and hear all about this trip.
