Pleasant Pause . . .

Even I am getting bored with my travel postings...I am home in Canada and that is a good thing.

We travelled through only a wee bit of snowy/rainy/slippery roads south of Butte but now we are in Kelowna, BC and have had clear/dry/bare roads over 99.95% of our journey, for which we are most thankful!!

We saw beautiful skies and grand buildings...

We drove past my teenage hometown...

...and you all know how I love red barns.

We had a short but sweet visit with siblings in Calgary and hurried on 36 hours later through the mountains...

So before heading home we are perched here in Kelowna a few days to visit Mother and rest a bit before heading home where our cabin renter says the bleeding hearts, bulbs and budding rhodies are waiting for my touch.  (I think that means weeds)

In the meantime I am enjoying catching up on my paperwork and reading and writing.

This morning I read our daughter Sherilee's blog...I know, you think I am truly prejudiced when it comes to all my children...but you would love her blog too.

In this month of April she has been blogging about letters of the alphabet A-Z and today was Q.  To see Sherilee's blog click here.

She asks for favourite quotes...well, I can give you a different favourite every day...not memorized but read.  Today I smiled at the following:

"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.  But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons."
-- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

You all have a lovely ending to your week and above all, be well.

p.s.  Sherilee, did you notice the 'whilst'?  Big Smile.

  1. I must be careful lest I ever feel any superiority!

Maybe those dolphins actually are the smartest. There are some days I think I would rather be a dolphin and be able to just muck around in the water all day. It looks like such a good life.

    1. Sherwin, I can tell you from my minimal experience that time spent mucking about in the water is the best.

  2. Douglas Adams is allowed to use "whilst," as he's British. It's the Brit-wannabees that drive me a little batty.

We're not tired of your travel blogging, just saying. But I can imagine it will feel good to be home!

    1. Bless your heart, dear. But as I was editing photos I all of a sudden said, Enough!

On the prairie photos that look grey and foggy, it was just that but those are also drive-by-shootings!

I probably have over 1000 photos in my cache just from this past week but over time I will edit them down and use some for specific purposes. There are some there that I actually want to enlarge and print.
